Early morning, September 2nd, 2007, driving to our wedding site, black eyed susans dot the highway for miles. This image is ingrained in my memory forever. The heavens gave us a magnificent day... sunshine, a cool breeze, a circle of people holding us.
Today we celebrate four years of (unlegalized) marriage. Seven years four months together. It's been full. Full of laugh-so-hard-you-cry and cry-so-hard-you-laugh moments. Hills and valleys and a lot of hard work. Inner work, interpersonal work, and just the work of who's making dinner. Someone once told me that, "Marriage is hard work. It's the hardest thing you'll ever do. And you do it". In my experience... it's worth all the effort!
Today, the heavens give us another magnificent day... sunshine, a cool breeze, a circle of people holding us...... and a back yard full of black eyed susans.
The bees are my gift to my wife. She's into them lately. I am loving you!
