This past Saturday was the season's first farmer's market. Mostly greens and tomatoes and starts for your own garden from our favorite local farmers, but it was farmer's market none-the-less. Our good friend (and possibly Avi's best friend) Reji joined us. We made bets on how many minutes before we saw someone we knew. We saw people we knew before we even finished making our bets. Seeing old friends, meeting new ones, gathering in the grass eating some Sister's Pantry dumplings, buying some greens and yummy applesauce... and a little hula hopping... no better way to spend a saturday morning.
LOVE farmers markets!! Looks like your day was filled with many wonderful moments. :)

DeleteWe have those hula hoops are our market too!!! We are very lucky to have a year round market here, so we never have to give it up, which I love. I am really looking forward to our favourite market in Toronto opening up in two weeks though, can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like guys had a blast.
year round market? in canada? i'm jealous. Yes, the hoop woman brings her hoops every market... I just spotted link (http://www.soulemama.com/soulemama/2011/06/soulful-mothering-with-elizabeth-mitchel.html) from natalie at chickenblog.com had about making them. I can't wait to have my own hoop making party... and the hoop woman at the market shared her secret to making collapsible hoop.. double couplers!!
